Second Order Effect
Not sure if we can list this as a Mental Models, but second order effect are everywhere
The benefits of containers for shipping goods was only shoed as a second order effect, when all the infrastructure has adapt to it.
Code test can catch second order effect that you even haven’t think of.
Second order effect are not easily thought, as it needs the first order to happen first, and they have a delayed time to run.
